All the Details of The Game

For this project I made a Games Design Document for an action-adventure game called Gumble the red Squirrel and learnt how to make a games design document. Under the games name I have made audio and character designs to be able to make the document and develop my skills further. I feel like this project gave me the opportunity to do this and be creative about it. This project has been influenced by different games and media that I like, for example Buck Bumble and Despicable Me, and I am very interested in how to make a good game that combines them together.

GDD

For The Game

Within this GDD there is basic game info and mood boards of ideas for sound, levels, and characters with links to different pieces of work. These were included to be able to make it seem like a GDD that would be used in an actual workplace setting. The mood boards were a mixture of Pic-Collage's and images inserted into Adobe Page as a way to have a visual representation of ideas. These mood boards and ideas created were than developed in Blender where I recreated an enemy and a gun for the game.

Development

Project Development

Development after the completion of the GDD and happened mostly on Blender and GarageBand. Blender development was used to create a character and weapon from the GDD and develop a level from there. Considering that this was one of the first times I used Blender I was proud of what I achieved as it wasn't bad all things considered. With GarageBand I went around my house trying to mimic sounds that can be used in games. This developed my awareness of how to develop sounds for games and what sounds like what in certain contexts.
Below is the link for development if for more of an idea of the work developed.
