Hello, today I'll be discussing what I like and don't like with the PS5 so far. For context I've been playing PS5 for about 3 ish months now and had lots of time to play on it. Past consoles I've played on are PS4, Switch, and Xbox 360 just in case you wanted some context.
Speed
The download and game loading speeds seem to be lessened a lot which I am really great full for. To just load up Sims 4 without a long waiting time makes the experience so much better and more immersive. Especially when going between lots! I don't know if it was just my experience but the PS4 takes years to download anything. With the PS5 it's days. This is just chefs kiss as I can download and upload anything quickly without worrying when the download/upload started.
UI is sexy
For me, the interface is so much sleeker and is as sexy as the PS5 itself. This definitely helps with navigating the system and actually finding what you want to find. Compared to the PS4, I like it better as the PS4 has everything together whereas the PS5 have them in sections. Personally, it just works.
Controller
The haptic feedback on the controller is a perfect 10/10. Playing games like Miles Morales with the controller vibrating and not having to squeeze the oblivion out of the back buttons is such a good feeling. Compared to the DualShock 4, it feels like an artwork. Where the DualShock 4 feels plasticky and slightly like a toy, the DualShock 5 feels so much sleeker and grown up. The overall impact is out of this world.
Console sounds healthy
As someone who collects consoles, the fact that it doesn't sound like a car engine to play Skyrim means that it's definitely a new console. Within games it means that I can concentrate on the music and not if the console will explode or not. It's a literal ear-saver. (Or console saver, either way).
Memory seems to not be as bad as I was expecting
I was fully expecting it to be quite bad, but it seems to have a healthy number of games installed on it right now so I'm extremely happy. These games are also a mixture of PS5 and PS4 games, so the memory sizes are quite different, but still aren't taking up the memory. It's pretty surprising!
Backwards compatible library
Even though this is for the PS Plus Premium, the fact that such a large list of backwards compatible games you can play on the PS5 makes me so happy. This is mainly because games like Infamous 2 and Toy story 3 would have been locked to the PS3 system. Getting to play these games on a PS5 makes happy and hopefully will continue to do so.
Thanks for reading my review on the PS5 3 months or so into playing on the console. It has been a joy so far and will be for a long while. See you, Iz.
